The “Herrenhaus” in Halltal has experienced many ups and downs in its history. After the shutdown of salt mining in Halltal by the saltworks in 1967, the house was bought in poor condition by a private party. In the following years, the house was upgraded to a popular restaurant, museum and meeting place.
After a devastating avalanche, which caused enormous damage, the manor house has lingered for almost two decades in involuntary slumber and increasingly damage occurs, this association, created from private initiative under the leadership and cooperation with the owner and a new approach of community, in which all sides are involved to achieve a progress of the repair and restoration in accordance with the statutes of the association.
